WE AIM TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Established in 2000 by Dr. S. Bandi (Urologist) and Darryl Hyland (diagnosed), Mackay Prostate Cancer Support Group aims to provide a high level of support to prostate cancer patients living in the Mackay district. We are a friendly volunteer-based organisation, providing support and information to those who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer, their loved ones, and people who have a general interest in prostate health. If you, or a loved one, have been diagnosed with prostate cancer, we're here for you. |
Who Are We?The Mackay Prostate Cancer Support Group is volunteer-based. Attendees have been diagnosed and have either undertaken, or are considering the various treatment options. We are not funded by the Government or Private Industry. We raise funds through donations, and request a Gold Coin donation for those attending meetings (this is not compulsory).
|
What To ExpectOur monthly meetings are usually attended by around 10-20 men. Partners are always welcome - we recognise they are involved in every aspect of the journey and also need support. Attendees are encouraged to share their experience and discuss any problems, share outcomes and discuss new developments in and around men's health and prostate cancer.

Keeping You InformedMembers are kept informed via a monthly newsletter. This newsletter keeps members of the group up to date on what's happening in the upcoming meeting, as well as any news regarding the support group, events, and prostate cancer news and awareness in general. You will also find this information on our website Learning Centre page.
